Free Radicals and their Scavengers*

In this 50-minute webinar, we welcome Neil E. Levin, CCN, DANLA to explain what free radicals are and how free radical scavengers can minimize their impact on our health and our appearance.

Free radicals are unstable molecules that can disrupt the body’s internal balance, or homeostasis. They are molecules produced by our bodies during normal metabolic processes, such as the simple act of breathing; but they’re also produced due to exposure to external compounds such as pollutants, chemicals and other environmental agents. Although we can’t avoid free radicals, there are many free radical scavengers which are natural compounds that can help to neutralize the free radicals in our bodies.*

He is a professional member of the International & American Associations of Clinical Nutritionists. He is a member of the Scientific Council of the national Clinical Nutrition Certification Board and is on the board of directors of the Mid-American Health Organization (MAHO), the Midwest regional affiliate of the National Products Association (NPA). Neil also serves as our Senior Nutrition Education Manager at NOW Foods.
