Hi, I’m Reid

I grew up in the small town of Grand Bay-Westfield, New Brunswick. I quickly fell in love with swimming and cross country which naturally drew me to the sport of triathlon. I was chasing the Olympic dream and had the opportunity to race in Brazil, Mexico, the USA, and Canada.

In 2017, I raced my last senior national championships where I finished 7th overall. I lost the drive to train for three sports and the grueling 30-hour training weeks. When I decided to retire from triathlon, the sport that became my entire identity, I battled with depression and anxiety. During this time, I found nature was helping me discover who I was outside of triathlon.

In 2019, I raced my first ultramarathon which happened to double as the national championships that year. I won the race and ran 125km in the 12-hour event. I haven't looked back since. In February of 2022, I quit my secure job in logistics and began running full-time. Since quitting my job, I have focused on training, racing, and community involvement.

I was most recently 2nd overall at the 2023 Austin Rattler 50k, securing a spot back into the Leadville 100 where I placed 8th overall this year. In early 2023, I signed my first official contract and officially became a professional runner. I am currently training throughout the United States on a visa. I set up camp wherever the next race is located. I'm a big dreamer and am working tirelessly to become one of the best in the sport. I spend my spare time learning about running, coaching, writing, and drinking coffee. I also like to get involved with the running community regardless of where I am based by doing talks about mental health, group runs, and volunteering whenever I can.
