Hi, I’m Ali

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, but soccer has taken me all over the world. In 2025, I retired from professional soccer after competing for almost two decades. I captained both the New Zealand National Team and Angel City FC (NWSL). I represented New Zealand at five FIFA World Cups and four Olympic Games, and in 2023, I had the honor of leading our national team to the country’s first-ever World Cup win. Before turning pro, I played at Stanford University.

My professional career took me to the likes of FC Rosengård in Sweden, Chelsea FC in England, and FC Bayern in Germany. I eventually came back to the US to join the Orlando Pride in 2020 before joining Angel City back home in Los Angeles. Over the years, I’ve been named New Zealand Player of the Year five times and was twice nominated for the FIFPRO World XI. Beyond soccer, I’m a certified health coach, a published cookbook author, and someone who genuinely loves everything about clean eating and wellness.

Off the field, I’ve hosted and produced several video series, and I currently co-host the podcast BFFR with a former teammate. I’ve also created social series like Ali in LA on TikTok and Instagram.
