    Tip 1: Consume Less Sugar

Avoid what Dawn calls “sugar sag” by planning meals with fresh ingredients. Sugar can cause the creation of AGE (Advanced Glycation Endproducts). This is an issue because AGE compounds cause collagen and elastin to become weak and more vulnerable to wrinkles and sagging. Find the sugar alternative that’s right for you.

    Tip 2: Eat More Produce

Produce contains antioxidants that improve skin health and provide additional protection against UV damage. Particularly orange and green produce contain carotenoids to give skin a healthy glow. Dawn recommends keeping “lazy vegetables” on hand to making consuming more good for you snacks even easier.

    Tip 3: Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!

A general guide for daily hydration is to get at least 9 glasses of water (72 oz.) per day for women (Institute of Medicine). Water isn’t just an old wives tale; adequate water helps skin stay healthy and plump. Specifically, it has been shown to help with moisture, thickness, and blood flow.

If you find the taste of water bland and boring, there are so many options to make it interesting. One of Dawn’s favorites are NOW Slender Sticks. It’s a low-calorie, no-sugar beverage packet (just add the powder to water and mix), and it comes in five flavors, including Coconut Water (made with real dehydrated coconut flakes). Plus, they’re high in antioxidant vitamins A, C, and E.

    Must-Have Beauty Nutrient 1: Collagen

Collagen is the most abundant protein in our bodies, and it helps support bone and joint health, as well as smooth, hydrated skin. But guess what?! Our collagen production begins to decline with age – as early as your late 20s – so supplementing with collagen can help maintain a youthful glow.* Add some Collagen Peptides Powder to your daily smoothie or add BioCell Collagen® Veg Capsules to your daily supplement regimen.

    Must-Have Beauty Nutrient 2: Vitamin C

Vitamin C is one of the few antioxidant vitamins that is necessary for collagen production and helps neutralize the free radicals in the skin associated with aging.* NOW makes a variety of vitamin C supplements in various forms, so it’s easy for anyone to find what fits their needs. One of Dawn’s favorites, which is great to pack for travel, is Effer-C™, a single-serve packet of effervescent vitamin C that gives you 1,000 milligrams of the vitamin in one punch. It’s great on its own when added to water (like a DIY spritzer!), but Dawn likes it added to green tea because it’s a 1-2 punch when it comes to combating the signs of aging.

  • Must-Have Beauty Nutrient 3: Vitamin E

Vitamin E is also a key nutrient for skin health.* It’s a fat-soluble antioxidant that plays important roles in photo-protection, helping to maintain the skin’s normal defenses against UV-induced free radical damage to skin.* And no, that doesn’t mean you can sunbathe all day, pop vitamin E, and be off the hook. Not only does NOW offer many Vitamin E supplements, they also carry a Vitamin E Cream in their beauty line. You can really get that one-two punch of beauty from the inside and out with NOW. Oh, and nuts, like Walnuts, are a good source of vitamin E, too!
