jennifer hayes selfieHi there! I’m Jenny Hayes, a competitive age group triathlete (endurance focused), USAT Certified Level 2 Endurance Triathlon Coach, and 200 Hour Certified Yoga Teacher.

I have had a love for fitness, sports, healthy living and eating my entire life, and was a very competitive tennis player growing up. When I went away to college, I decided to trade in my sports career for a social one, and developed a pretty aggressive form of anorexia which negatively impacted most areas and relationships in my life. I was fortunate enough to have an amazing support system around me, and was on my road to recovery by the time I graduated from college. Even though I was getting better, it wasn’t until I found the sport of triathlon in 2008 that I really found my self-confidence, positive body image, and remembered how to use food as fuel instead of punishment – something I had completely lost and forgotten once I gave up playing tennis competitively.

I had NO idea how to swim or properly ride a bike, but decided to sign up for my first sprint triathlon in 2008. It hurt SO bad, I had no clue what I was doing, but I LOVED racing. I was hooked immediately, and started taking up swim lessons and racing longer distance triathlons each year. This all led to finishing my first Ironman distance triathlon in 2011 (Ironman Wisconsin) – something I never thought I would do, but the accomplishment was a life changing one for me. I felt empowered, confident, and as though I could do anything I put my mind to. I owed a big part of that feeling to the coach I hired to help prepare me for the event, and I knew the minute I finished that I wanted to do the same for others.

Since that race in 2011, I have not only continued to race triathlons, but have also gained my USAT Level 1 & 2 Endurance Coaching Certifications and now have the opportunity to support athletes to reach their goals, and I love every minute of it.

In my time away from training, racing, and coaching, I spend as much time as I can with my loved ones, travel as much as I can, cook a TON, and practice lots of yoga and meditation!
