These capsules are enteric-coated to release in a pH of 5.5 or higher. They are designed to not open in the stomach. This will reduce the small possibility of this oil "repeating". People will not normally taste this after they take them on an empty stomach.
In the unlikely event that you experience an aftertaste from this product, try to take them a short time BEFORE a meal, so that they will still pass through the stomach undigested, but the food in the stomach could then form a physical barrier to the oils moving back up.
These capsules are designed to withstand over an hour of exposure to stomach acid, but will dissolve in less than an hour in the more alkaline intestinal juices.
