How does NOW feel about genetically engineered products, and are all NOW products free of genetic engineering or genetically modified organisms?
NOW is strongly against genetic engineering and/or genetically modified organisms in foods and dietary supplements, because we are concerned about the safety and environmental impact of this manipulation. While NOW has taken great strides in the past few years to switch as many of our products to non-GMO sources as possible, raw materials supplies have not kept up.
In the early 1990’s all food was non-GMO. When the crops changed, only certified organic foods were known to be free of GMOs. As new Identity Preserved non-GMO sources become available, we are eagerly adding those to our catalog of products.

Does NOW carry Non-GMO nutritional products?
We are concerned with the proliferation of GMOs into the food chain and offer a growing number of organic foods, herb teas, essential oils, green foods and nutritional oils, as well as non-GMO soy protein, soy nuts and Lecithin. We continue to influence major raw material manufacturers to offer more Non-GMO products..
