| Ingredients |
| 6-8 slices bread, cut in pieces |
| 1 lb. shredded sharp cheese |
| 12 eggs, beaten |
| 2 cups milk |
| 3/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, plus 3/4 teaspoon dry mustard |
| Salt to taste (up to 3/4 tsp.) |
| 1 lb. bacon, fried crisp and broken OR sausage, drained |
Variations:
Some prefer less cheese, some add ½ cup half and half to the milk, some use less eggs.
