Colloidal Minerals FAQs

What are Colloidal Minerals and where do they come from?

Colloidal Minerals are extracted from shale deposits formed through the decomposition of prehistoric plant life. Almost all Colloidal Mineral supplements are taken from shale deposits in Utah or neighboring areas. The microscopic size of fossilized minerals taken from this area allows the human body to better utilize these elements at a cellular level*. Many of the minerals contained in this supplement are greatly depleted or absent from most soil-based diets today. Soil depletion, lack of seaweed and seafood in the diet, and over-processing of foods all contribute to trace mineral deficiency in people’s diets. Supplementation is a good way to obtain optimal levels of these nutritionally-important minerals.

How are Colloidal Minerals processed and what is the mineral and heavy metal content?

Once colloidal minerals are extracted, the minerals are washed and filtered for purity. This filtration process also helps remove heavy metals from the finished product. For example, arsenic levels are less than one part per million (1 ppm). Click here to view a complete list of the minerals and heavy metals found in this product.
