Focused on Education
NOW Foods’ 2014 annual retailer conference, held at the Westin Hotel in Itasca, Illinois May 8 – 10, focused on education, networking, and product training, giving retailer customers in-depth knowledge of NOW’s quality program, tools to help them increase sales, and an overview of the financial state of the industry. Nearly 200 health food retailers attended this year, some from as far away as Alaska.
"The facility tour was organized and impressive,” said first-time attendee Dori Cranmore, owner of All About Herbs in Wasilla, Alaska. “It answered so many questions we had. We were so very excited to bring home lots of new information about NOW's products, industry and manufacturing."
Day one began with the history of NOW told by National Sales Manager Dan Richard and CEO Jim Emme. Amber Cerda, Marketing Communications Manager, described the many sales and marketing tools NOW makes available to their retailer customers to help them sell more products. Quality Control Manager Aaron Secrist, M.S., and Andy Frampton, R & D Manager, discussed NOW’s outstanding quality assurance and testing programs, as well as the technical know-how that goes into product formulation.
Suzy Singh, R&D Corporate Chef, and Dave Rosenberg, Food Category Manager, discussed all of the innovative and delicious food offerings coming out of the company’s test kitchen, from non-GMO to allergy friendly and beyond. The final session of the first day, presented by Janica Lane, Director at Piper Jaffray & Co., provided an industry overview.
On day two, a tour of NOW’s 263,000 square foot GMP-certified state-of-the-art manufacturing and distribution facility in Bloomingdale, Illinois was offered, along with an opportunity to browse products and take advantage of deep discounts offered just to attendees. A number of ingredient suppliers were on hand to answer questions as well.

NOW will offer its first West Coast Retailer Conference at its manufacturing and distribution facility in Sparks, Nevada in August.
