NOW® Foods Reaffirms Commitment to Non-GMO Products and Ingredients

Bloomingdale, IL (October 1, 2013) - October is Non-GMO Month, so it’s the perfect time to announce that in 2014 all NOW Foods BetterStevia™, NOW Real Food®, NOW Real Tea™ and Living Now™ food products produced will be non-GMO. Beginning January 1, 2014, each item produced in these product lines will be free of GMO ingredients.*

Additionally, NOW is actively seeking non-GMO verification for all current non-GMO food line products through The Non-GMO Project. While NOW currently has the necessary documentation for all non-GMO food line products in their inventory, verification from The Non-GMO Project provides additional validation that the ingredients used in our products have been independently verified.

  • Support of national and uniform labeling of GMO foods and continuing to work with industry groups on finding feasible ways to achieve this.
  • Publicizing data showing that GMO crops can be inferior nutritionally and agriculturally as compared to their related conventionally grown strains.
  • Working actively with ingredient suppliers and asking them to put more effort and resources into non-GMO sourcing and documentation.
  • Continuing to expand Certified Organic and non-GMO verified (by The Non-GMO Project) offerings.
  • Working with various organizations to improve availability of non-GMO dietary ingredients.
