NOW recently invited Congressman Joe Walsh of the 8th District to visit our facility and talk with us about legislative issues that could impact our industry, most importantly the recent New Dietary Ingredient Guidance from the FDA.

During Congressman Walsh’s visit to NOW on January 20th, he spoke with NOW’s management and employees about issues that we all share concerns about. He spoke about focusing on domestic jobs creation, and how the reported unemployment rate of 8% is falsely reported and is closer to 17%. He believes government agencies and their regulations are costing us jobs, and that government needs to let businesses do what they do best – provide products and services at a profit to grow their businesses and provide more jobs. He is against the New Dietary Ingredient Guidance from the FDA, and he sees the same issue of burdensome oversight with other government agencies. He wants to help by nationally publicizing this issue. Congress reacts when they hear from the public, so national publicity could be a pivotal step in creating greater consumer awareness.
