Rice Griddle Cakes
Yields approximately 20 small cakes
|1 cup cooked brown rice|
|2 cups milk|
|½ teaspoon salt|
|1 tablespoon NOW Real Food® Turbinado Sugar*|
|1½ cups sifted unbleached white flour|
|2 teaspoons baking powder|
|1 egg beaten|
- Soak cooked rice in 1 cup of milk overnight.
- Add salt, sugar, shortening, flour and baking powder.
- Beat the mixture well, then add egg and remaining cup of milk.
- Bake on hot, greased griddle.
