Banana Power Shake
The following recipe is from Marcia Zimmerman’s book, Eat Your Colors™ book. You will feel best and function best if you eat foods that are harmonious with your body type. If you don't know your body type, there is a questionnaire in her book that will help you determine it. Then, you can enjoy the well being that comes from eating foods that are right for you. Start your day with a high-protein "power shake". This is also a great pick-me-up in the afternoon, especially for children on their way to soccer practice or other after-school activities. You can use this beverage as an easy way to get your child to take their dietary supplements. Lecithin is a source of acetylcholine, essential for optimal brain function. Flaxseed is a source of omega-3 fatty acids and fiber. The enzymes help digest the protein. I recommend two power shakes a day for children and adults, one in the morning with breakfast and one as a pick-me-up mid-afternoon.
