charitable3.gifDuring NOW® Foods 45+ years of serving health conscious consumers, we have seen the lean years along with the good, which helps us remain well grounded in what really matters – helping people.

This ideal goes hand-in-hand with NOW® Foods’ original goal; to make health attainable by making quality dietary supplements affordable, thereby improving the quality of life for not only our customers, but for people everywhere.

We are committed to sharing the good fortune of NOW® Foods with others, and give on the basis of the needs we see around us, or on the basis of specific worthy causes. We give to various charities in a direct and efficient manner, and continue to seek those charities that are "self-enabling", or encourage and teach recipients to help themselves.

NOW® Foods donates to many non-profit causes and organizations including:

Meal-A-Day Fund (UK & the Americas)
Compassion International Natural Health Research Institute
The Conservation Foundation The Nature Conservency of IL
Christadelphian India Fund Nourish America
DuPage Community Clinic People's Resource Center
Feeding America SCARCE
Hephzibah Children's Association Vitamin Angels Alliance
The Life Center  Williamsburg Christadelphian Foundation
Marklund (local disabilities) World Relief

In the pursuit of our charitable endeavors, we always seek to give to those charities that have a proven track record of success in helping others, especially when their goals coincide with our company mission and industry philosophy. And, we carefully screen charitable foundations to insure that donations are used in the spirit in which they were given, for the good of those less fortunate.

Recently, NOW® Foods was recognized by the March of Dimes for our donation of Folic Acid to the Hispanic Women’s Initiative Project. Because information on the risk of neural tube defects is lacking among Latina women, birth defects are 40% higher among Latina women. The March of Dimes administers this program not only to provide information on the risks of birth defects, but also to supply affordable folic acid to Hispanic communities. Research has shown that all women able to conceive should consume at least 400mcg of folic acid daily. This donation will supply March of Dimes distribution centers in Chicago for several months.

We also assisted the humanitarian efforts ongoing in Ghana by donating bottles of Vitamin A with Folic Acid. Vitamin A deficiency in third world countries is an epidemic that claims thousands of lives every year, especially children. We were contacted by an associated mission in need of dietary supplements to combat the ravages of malnutrition, and we responded. NOW® Foods plans on offering more dietary and nutritional assistance to the people of Ghana, and other impoverished countries, in the future.

In addition, we encourage our employees to participate in charities of their choice. Many of our employees champion different charities they believe in.

We consider charity a duty of those who are fortunate in life. We believe in the creed "Do unto others as you would have done unto you." NOW® Foods will continue to give to charitable efforts that enhance the lives of those less fortunate.
