Assists in the set-up of machines and the adding of bulk to totes. Performs sanitation of machines, totes, and other areas of production department. Identifies potential quality problems and notifies machine operators. Performs other tasks such as hand packing, bulk packing, displays, or related duties. Must be able to lift 60#.

Sets up and activates machine and observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction. Cleans and assembles equipment on line according to standard operating procedures. Performs minor machine maintenance. Assists coworkers to set up machine, and to stack, mark, pack, and transport finished product.  Must be able to lift 60#.

PROCESSING SUPERVISOR
 
Job Description:
Learns the operation of and is familiar with routine maintenance of all processing machinery and equipment, including encapsulator, tablet press, blending equipment, roller compactor, fitzmill, and coating pan.  Maintains all processing equipment. Interprets company policies, specifications and job orders to employees.  Directs setup and adjustments of machines.  Measures productivity on a daily basis, with goal of meeting standards. Communicates with other departments to requisition supplies, products and equipment necessary to meet production schedules. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.  Ensures that proper sanitation and health rules are followed by all department employees.  Assigns duties; enforces safety regulations. Analyzes and resolves work problems and grievances, or assists employees in solving work problems.  Maintains processing records daily; fills out weekly reports as required. Bachelor's degree from a four-year college and three to five years' related experience and/or training.

Responsible for integrity of specific work area regarding attention to detail, material and paperwork accuracy and all elements associated with blending or the specific work center assigned. Accepts ownership for all safety, quality and efficiency expectations of area assigned.  Learns and applies all policies and procedures for this position, including safety rules, good manufacturing practices, work rules, weight error charts, and sanitization practices. Operates all equipment in accordance with established safety policies. Ability to effectively train / communicate professionally with all departments / staff. Prepares work area at beginning of shift and cleans up work area at end of shift for next  operator.  Cleans area at end of production run to ensure area is ready for next job.  Observes standards of personal and workplace cleanliness. Cleans or sanitizes all food contact surfaces between changes of product. Performs operator / helper scheduled maintenance checklist. Arranges boxes and other supporting supplies in a neat and orderly manner.  Obtains raw materials in a timely manner. Places raw materials into machine; operates controls to activate machine. Observes machine operation to detect finished product defects or machine malfunction. Examines finished product to determine accuracy of machine operation.  Performs minor machine maintenance.
