MAINTENANCE MECHANIC I
 
Job Description:
Assists in performing maintenance work throughout the plant in order to repair production machines, fabricate parts, and rebuild equipment.  Helps to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment problems.  Assists in dismantling, repairing and reassembling complex equipment. Operates production equipment to check work, as required.  Cleans and lubricates equipment. Occasionally assists in performing work in other areas such as building maintenance. Assists Engineering in installation of new equipment. Works from drawings, verbal instructions and/or sketches.

Qualifications:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. MAINTENANCE LEAD
 
Job Description:
Under direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, assigns jobs and tasks and monitors the progress of production and maintenance projects. Seeks out ways to improve equipment performance and quality of product.  Recommends changes related to equipment use to increase efficiency.  Keeps the supervisor informed of problem areas. Trains and orients maintenance employees new to the department, acquainting them with the details and functions of their new jobs, and how these responsibilities relate to the functioning of the company as a whole.  Responds to and answers any questions new employees may have during their scheduled shift hours. Operates as a replacement worker for absent or vacationing mechanics. Performs other tasks or projects as directed by their supervisor or department manager. Complies with safety and GMP requirements. Lifting up to 60# required.

Qualifications:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to five years related experience and/or training (electrical, machine shop, machine troubleshooting, pneumatics, hydraulics, OSHA standards, lock-out/tag-out, etc.); or equivalent combination of education and experience. General knowledge of electric, welding and machine shop required.  Food or pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.
