ASSISTANT PURCHASING MANAGER
 
Job Description:
Assists Purchasing Manager in the gathering and evaluating of information needed to make purchasing decisions; prioritizes purchasing needs; places orders for goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, advertising, and service work; reports on purchasing activities; and works with contract vendors and toll vendors.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and minimum five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Pre-employment testing required:  drug screen, background check.

Job Description:
Discusses personnel needs and recruiting process with supervisors and managers. Ensures requisition for new hire forms are received and obtains the necessary approvals. Coordinates the internal job transfer process.  Prescreens and interviews applicants.  Provides information on company, job opportunities and benefits to potential applicants.  Refers qualified applicants to department managers and supervisors for follow up interview and obtains feedback from them. Administers and scores aptitude and skills tests. Conducts reference checks on applicants. Makes job offers to job applicants and sends follow-up offer letters. Coordinates and schedules pre-employment drug screens, physical exams, functional testing and background checks. Coordinates the employee referral program.  Ensures that timely follow up is done with employees on the status of employee referrals and that employee referral bonuses are paid when due. Conducts new hire orientations to ensure new employees are familiar with company policies, processes and benefits.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; and a minimum of three years related experience and/or training.  Advanced skills in interviewing techniques as well as extensive knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices are required.   PHR or SPHR certification preferred. -employment testing required:  drug screen, background check.
